Today is World Animal Day and we wanted to celebrate with our fans by showcasing some of the lessor spotted and lessor profiled animals - maybe not all as impressive as the great African Big 5, but all just as special and beautiful nonetheless.

Having stayed at Kariega Game Reserve for 6 weeks, I now consider this place my home. I take away with me a deeper knowledge of conservation issues as well as environmental adaptations relating to animals and plants. Every moment I will cherish; capturing lion, having elephant walk around the garden fence (and within touching distance past the Cruiser!) and crazy pizza nights with the rest of the gang. August was a month full of exciting and totally unexpected wildlife encounters and sightings. We were surprised and amazed by the African bush and its wide diversity of inhabitants almost every day of this month.
