Typical Day

This is a guideline only. Times vary by lodge, weather and season and shift slightly in winter. Your Guide will confirm times and activities at the lodge.

Check-in: before 14h00, in time for lunch and the afternoon activity
Check out: before 11h00

Daily schedule (all lodges)

06h00: Tea, coffee and a snack, then a morning game drive or boat cruise. Boat cruises include a short drive to and from the boats (except at River Lodge).
09h30: Breakfast
11h00: Bush walk, fishing, spa treatment, swim, or relax and siesta
14h00: Lunch
16h00: Afternoon game drive or river cruise with sundowners
19h30: Dinner, alternating between the Boma (weather permitting) and the restaurant

Main Lodge

Check in and out at Main Reception, where your Guide meets you and takes you to your chalet.
At 06h00 your Guide collects you from your chalet. Tea and coffee are available in your chalet, and the drive includes a tea, coffee and snack stop.
The Kiddies Trail has educational activities and can be booked through the Kids Centre by the Main Lodge bar

Main Lodge and Ukhozi Lodge

Blue Duiker Trail: a 45-60 minute circular walk along a ridge, through indigenous forest and open areas with valley views. Signs along the way explain the local animals and birds. It is not suitable for small children, elderly guests or guests with limited mobility.

River Lodge

Extra 11h00 options are canoeing or a boat trip down the Bushmans River to the beach.

The Homestead

Check in between 13h00 and 14h00.
The schedule is very flexible. With your own Hosts, Cook and Guide, it can be adapted for each family or group.

Settlers Drift

To arrive by boat, be at the jetty by 13h00. The boat depends on weather and tides, and the gate will confirm whether it is running. Otherwise, drive in and check in before 14h30, in time for afternoon tea and the afternoon activity.
Extra 11h00 options are canoeing or relaxing on your private deck.
Afternoon tea at 14h30 replaces lunch.
