The Kariega Game Reserve rangers are proud to introduce delicious Fairtrade coffee to keep guests toasty warm during game drives. Guests can enjoy Bean There coffee which comes from all corners of Africa including Ruwanda, Ethiopia, Burundi and Tanzania. Not only that, but the Fairtrade endorsement ensures that the coffee is produced in a way that is safe for the environment and beneficial to the community.

"Fairtrade is an ethical certification whose main aim is to promote more equality and sustainability in the farming sector. A product that carries the Fairtrade Certification Mark has met the rigorous Fairtrade Standards, which focus on improving labour and living conditions for farming communities and on promoting a way of farming that doesn't harm either people or the environment." - Fairtrade website (click here for more)

Kariega looks forward to incorporating more Fairtrade products to the reserve in the future. Headranger, Jason Friend, comments: "We are always looking for new ways to support and promote sustainable living, and we ultimately want the reserve to directly benefit the productivity and economy of our local community. Supporting Bean There coffee and other Fairtrade products is a step in the right direction."
