Kariega Game Reserve is a family-owned, Big 5 private game reserve set in South Africa’s Eastern Cape. Spanning 12,000 hectares of pristine African bush with two majestic rivers, the extraordinary beauty and biodiversity of the reserve offer exceptional game viewing and birding, including the Big 5 – all from open safari vehicles with expert guides.

This malaria-free Eastern Cape game reserve offers five safari lodges, each designed to cater to diverse travel needs while delivering warm hospitality and immersive nature experiences.

Main Lodge

Available at any time for groups of 20 guests or more to 31 August 2022, for minimum two night stays.
Rate of R2,300 per person per night sharing to 31 August 2022.
Rates include all meals, morning and evening game drives and other game activities (beverages excluded).
All children welcome.
Children 12 years and under pay 50% of the adult rate.
Children 3 years and under stay free of charge.
Excludes the Kariega Foundation conservation & community levy of R150 per adult paying guest per night.

Ukhozi Lodge

Available from Thursdays to Sundays to 31 August 2022, for minimum two night stays.
Available at any time for a minimum of 10 guests to 31 August 2022, for minimum two night stays.
Rate of R2,900 per person per night sharing to 31 August 2022.
Triples available on request (extra bed) - 3rd person at 50% of rate.
Rates are fully inclusive (all meals, selected beverages, morning and evening game drives and other game activities).
Up to 31 August 2022 we have made two Main Lodge chalets, closest to Ukhozi Lodge, available for families with younger children. Guests enjoy all meals and facilities at Ukhozi Lodge.
Children 10 years and under subject to arrangement.
Excludes the Kariega Foundation conservation & community levy of R150 per adult paying guest per night.

Settlers Drift

Available from Thursdays to Sundays to 31 August 2022, for minimum two night stays.
Available at any time for a minimum of 10 guests to 31 August 2022, for minimum two night stays.
Rate of R3,500 per person per night sharing to 31 August 2022.
Triples available on request (extra bed) - 3rd person at 50% of rate.
Rates are fully inclusive (all meals, selected beverages, morning and evening game drives and other game activities).
Children 10 years and under subject to arrangement.
Excludes the Kariega Foundation conservation & community levy of R150 per guest per night.
Management reserves the right to move a Settlers Drift booking to Ukhozi Lodge if there are insufficient bookings at Settlers Drift (rate difference will be refunded).

The Homestead

Available at any time to 31 August 2022, for minimum two night stays.
Maximum of 14 guests (adults & children), adjustment to the rate applies for groups over 10 people.
Rate of R19,000 per night for up to 10 people to 31 August 2022.
Rates are fully inclusive (all meals, selected beverages, morning and evening game drives and other game activities).
All children welcome.
Excludes the Kariega Foundation conservation & community levy of R150 per adult paying guest per night.

Terms & Conditions

In addition to the terms above, the following are applicable. Please view our full terms and conditions.

Valid for guests travelling before 31 August 2022.
Applies to SADC residents only.
Applies to new bookings only.
Rates include accommodation, all meals, selected beverages, twice daily game drives, guided bush walks, canoeing and a river cruise (Main Lodge excludes beverages).
A 25% single supplement is applicable.
Rates exclude Kariega Foundation conservation and community levy of R150 per adult paying guest per night and any items of a personal nature.
Management reserves the right to upgrade a booking or move a guest/s to an equivalent lodge.
Full payment is due on confirmation.
Notwithstanding our normal cancellation terms below, no cancellation fees will be charged if any guest is unable to travel due to Covid-19.
25% if booking cancelled less than 30 days prior to arrival.
50% if booking cancelled less than 14 days prior to arrival.
100% if booking cancelled less than 7 days prior to arrival.
