Qualify as a Field Guide at the Kariega Nature College

The Kariega Nature College is proud to facilitate the opportunity for nature enthusiasts and aspirant students to reach their goals in achieving Field Guide Association of South Africa (FGASA) field guiding and tracking qualifications.

Our team’s approach focuses on the personal development and mentorship of each candidate from student to professional guide and tracker.

Unique to the Kariega Nature College is the engagement with at least five of South Africa’s nine terrestrial biomes or ecoregions and the beautiful coastlines of the Eastern Cape.

Students will be learn within a Big 5 conservancy where they can expect spectacular wildlife sightings and memorable encounters. The bird count in the region is impressive and includes some rare species, the most notable of which is the narina trogon found in the indigenous forest areas.
