Thandi of Kariega Game Reserve South Africa recently featured in Wildlife Extra's blog, "Thandi, the rhino that survived". The article tells the story of the rhino poaching incident at Kariega Game Reserve that occured on the 2 March 2012, and of both Thandi and Themba's fight for survival.

The article also tells of Thandi now returning to a normal life, and features a before and after picture of her injury (not for the faint-hearted).

Lastly the article talks about the general anti-poaching awareness campaigns in South Africa, and internationally, commenting that although poaching numbers continue to rise, we need to persevere in the fight against poaching as well as hold our elected leaders, police and justice officials responsible for the crimes being committed within their jurisdiction.

A big thank you to Wildlife Extra for publishing this featured article on Thandi and for spreading an inspirational message about this very serioius issue game parks in South Africa currently face.
